About Vladimire About Alexander

Helping people transform a life that’s not working into a life that sparkles with joy, hope, and personal empowerment is my passion and my life purpose.
As a child growing up in Brooklyn, I watched too many people trying their best to deal with addictions and the heartache they bring. I wanted to understand the depression and anxiety that people feel, and try to medicate with drugs, alcohol, and even with food, gambling, or shopping – whatever could give a temporary high that let them forget the misery inside for a little while.
When I was sixteen, an incident happened that changed my direction in life. Maybe because I’d always been expected to be the strong one, I didn’t seek out counseling at the time, even though it would have been helpful.
Maybe I didn’t go to counseling because back then, in Haitian culture, going to therapy meant you were crazy. Or maybe I didn’t want my mom to think my suffering meant she wasn’t a good mother. Probably it was a combination of many internal and external pressures that prevented me from giving myself the counseling I needed, and that was a mistake.
I urge you not to make the same mistake because — whether it’s something big that’s happened or many small things that are bothering you — waiting to get help does is eat you up inside. It’s so helpful to process how you feel and what you need, and have the encouragement of a counselor to move forward rather than staying in the pain.
Getting my bachelor’s degree in sociology at Hunter College provided me with the big picture of what happens in communities and families when people are in despair, trying to cope but making bad choices. That understanding was good, but I wanted more direct ways to help individuals get relief.
So after college I entered the nursing program at NYU. However, I realized two semesters into the program that nursing was not for me, as I was terrified of blood. I took 6 months off to reassess what I wanted to do, deciding on the rehabilitation counseling program, where I earned a master’s degree in applied psychology.
Today I am a licensed mental health counselor, certified rehabilitation counselor and professional career counselor. I have been working in the social service field for 12 years.
The details of your situation and the journey you are traveling through are unique for you. No one knows that better than I do. That’s why when we work together, I’ll be there for you 110%. You deserve no less.
I just want you to know this:
In learning to get my life back, I discovered that I could use my strength — which all of us do have in abundance – to put down what wasn’t really serving me, and to pick up the new perspectives that I needed. In short, I needed to get out of my own way, as most of us who are too strong need to do.
If that’s what you need for yourself, I can help you achieve that.
My employment experiences and personal exposure have provided me with unique insight and capacity for working and engaging with people encountering a wide range of circumstances. I am motivated to help you, as this is my passion! I find it extremely rewarding when my clients realize their own full potential for making successful changes in their life.
Getting to this point has definitely been a winding road, with some pretty big potholes along the way. I hope it helps you to know that I can most definitely help you rebuild your life.
You deserve to stop hurting now

About Alexander

When I was a young adult I became interested in what makes people procrastinate to the point of abandoning their dreams – perhaps because I had experienced similar procrastination. I saw that by not challenging myself I had become a dreamer rather than a doer. Basically I had settled for less than I was capable of.
In learning to change this situation, one of the first things I discovered was that it was hard to shift perspective on my own. And it was vitally important to my personal and professional success that I learn to do so.
With some excellent help, I became open to new ways of thinking. I learned how to find new tools and resources that encouraged different ways to see, analyze, and operationalize my options. And that’s made all the difference.
Now I hold a bachelor of science in psychology from Brooklyn College. I have earned a certified professional executive coach credential from New York University, and my career experience includes more than 10 years in a high energy, fast paced human services field, with over 6 years as a manager. Growing up, I have always participated in all types of sports and have continued to maintain a level of fitness by sticking to a regimen of long distance running coupled with resistance training.
Overcoming procrastination and changing perspective allowed me to achieve all this. And these two important changes in how I operated in my world transformed my career focus into a passion and life purpose of helping clients gain new perspectives in order to achieve the professional and personal success that you want.
You see, I am an Empowerment Coach. Whether you are struggling in your personal life, stuck on the corporate ladder, feeling the ceiling at the executive level, or having trouble achieving the life you want, I help those who are at a crossroads. Perhaps you are at a dead end job where you feel stagnant and would like to rise but are being hindered by forces or expectations that appear outside your control. You may be contemplating a career change, going back to school to pursue your dreams, or just starting an exercise regiment, and want a coach to help you stay committed.
What separates me from other coaching services is my commitment to a person-centered and synergistic learning partnership geared towards clearly defining and aligning your goals. Above all, I encourage the progressive thinking that sustains a sense of full empowerment. This typically results in a transformational shift in behavior conducive to your overall growth that continues as you pursue a healthy and happy life – and I know it works because it has worked for me.
As your coach, I will challenge you and hold you accountable for getting out of your comfort zone.
With me, you will gain or increase the follow abilities to fully support your success in your personal and professional life:
• New perspectives on strategic ideas, concepts and issues
• Constructive confrontation of your blind spots
